ALL UBCP WAIVERS MUST BE EMAILED OR FAXED TO THE ATTENTION OF LESLEY BRADY AT UBCP BY NO LATER THAN AUGUST 3RD.

Write / Shoot / Edit
Friday, August 12th, 5:00pm to Sunday, August 14th, 5:00pm (Pick-Up/Drop-Off Location: The Playhouse Theatre Company 160 WEST 1ST AVE-entrance)

Festival Screenings (Performance Works)
Monday and Tuesday, August 22nd & 23rd, estimated start time 6:00 PM

Gala Screenings & Awards (The Commodore Ballroom)
Saturday August 27, Doors @ 7:00pm

What To Submit:
  1. Sound Bite (original music, an instrument, a sound effect, CD)

  2. Photograph (make it interesting!)

  3. Location Idea (eg: a kitchen, a parking lot, a pool, be creative!)

  4. Surprise (eg: golf club,a letter,an old microwave, an actor,a fish-be imaginative).

  5. Donation to Craft Services - Food donation, A GOOD food donation for 10 people! Remember "give unto others..." This can be brought with you when you pick up the inspiration package on Friday, August 12th @ 4:30 pm.

    You will not be able to pick up your pacakage until your food is delivered.
You will NOT receive any of these items back, so ensure they are not priceless!


The Instructions:

On Friday August 12th, 2005 at 5:00PM 1 or 2 representatives from each team will meet at (NEW LOCATION TBA SOON!!!), 604-351-7272. You will choose your 5 elements to be combined and used for your "Inspiration Package" and begin creating!

You must write, shoot, edit and deliver your movie by Sunday August 14, 2005

You can use any format to shoot your movie, however, the final format must be delivered on mini DV.

Please ensure this is not the only copy and indicate on the tape the Director's & Editor's name

The maximum duration of the film is 10 minutes (strictly enforced)


Where to Submit:

All application forms and inspiration packages can be sumbitted to Airwaves Sound Design Ltd. 2nd floor 25 East 2nd Ave. Vancouver, B.C. Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. If you need to submit on the weekends please contact Kathy at (604) 737-1118 or Derick at (604) 351-7272.

All items must be individually disguised, wrapped or put into envelopes. Please clearly indicate the category, ie: "Location", "Photograph" etc.


Each team will receive tickets for all of it's team members to the Gala - Additional tickets for family and friends can be purchased through ReelFast or Tickemaster.

So stick your Judges in your pockets and test, challenge, expand your instincts! Hug your team members and remember that it's not if you win or lose but how you pleay the game! Do something different! Festival screening will be a chance to see it all and choose the People's Choice Award, have a drink and tell/see some stories! Remember the Gala is on Saturday August 27! Dress for picking up your awards! See you there!
